Cultural awareness is vital for the modern designer, and most designers are culturally aware people. It's why designers are often witty with a sophisticated sense of humor.

The modern designer needs to be a skilled communicator. Graphic design is a non-verbal the benefit of written or spoken commentaries describing the designer's intentions.
